After the success of the 2013 summer internship and with economic help from Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF), Rochester Area Foundation (RAF) and Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc. (RAEDI), the Mayo Clinic Business Accelerator hired summer interns.

Duncan is conducting a valuation of Regen Theranostics as the company looks to l finance an expansion of its existing operations. Additionally, Duncan is working with orthopedic surgeon and entrepreneur Dr. Bruce Levy as he develops and brings to market a medical garment to be worn by patients during surgeries.
Duncan comes to the Accelerator from Carleton College. He expects to graduate in June 2015 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics. Last summer, he had the opportunity to study economics abroad at Cambridge University on a Carleton-led seminar. Following the program, he held an investment banking internship at Greene Holcomb Fisher, where he conducted market research for companies across a broad array of industries and assisted analysts in building financial models. Duncan also works as a Career Advisor in Carleton’s Career Center, is a Co-Chair on the Carleton Responsible Investment Committee and competes in Ultimate Frisbee for the Carleton Ultimate Team (CUT).
After completing his undergraduate degree, Duncan will look to begin a career in banking, consulting or law. In his work, he is interested in finding solutions to complex problems and enjoys collaborating with others throughout the process.

Tarun is working with Dr. Mark Ereth of Transfuse Solutions and Al Berning of Ambient Clinical Analytics. Tarun will help Transfuse Solutions in assessing the feasibility of a new business opportunity and business models around that. For Ambient Clinical Analytics, he will be working to support the development of sales planning and strategy for the company’s YesBoard and AWARE products.
Tarun is pursuing his MBA degree from the Carlson School of Management and will graduate in 2015. He has completed his BS in Biotechnology from Panjab University in India. Prior to joining the Carlson school, he has worked extensively worked in management consulting field with Evalueserve and Monitor Group as an analyst where he supported innovation and market strategy teams of Life Sciences and Consumer Goods companies. He cofounded a boutique market research firm in 2011 and led the client development and project delivery for that. By 2013 the firm was profitable and had a team size of 10 analysts when Tarun decided to transfer the ownership to his business partner for pursuing his MBA education.
After completing his MBA, Tarun would be looking for business development/strategy opportunities in Life Sciences/Healthcare industry.
