Welcome Xavier Frigola, who was recently hired as the new coordinator of Accelerator and Entrepreneur Programming for the Mayo Clinic Business Accelerator. Xavier will begin on November 4, 2013, and will lead the day-to-day operations of the Accelerator.
Xavier’s background includes a Master in Business Administration (MBA), and a doctorate in Immunology and extensive experience working with entrepreneurs. He previously served as a technology transfer fellow for Mayo Clinic Ventures and was the operations manager for Resoundant, a medical device firm started by Mayo Clinic. “It is a fascinating opportunity to work closely with entrepreneurs, provide them with an environment to support success and help grow the base of high-tech companies in the Rochester area,” said Xavier.
In addition to leading the day-to-day operations of the Accelerator, Xavier will be responsible for coordinating and managing entrepreneurial events at the Accelerator, building networks and education programs that effectively accelerate company growth and grow local infrastructure, serving as a resource to the Accelerator’s existing tenants as well as recruiting additional tenants, and developing a plan for building and sustaining the Accelerator program long-term. “Xavier emerged from a pool of excellent candidates for this position. We look forward to him joining the RAEDI team,” said President Gary Smith, Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc.
